Two mountain bikers and a local guide set out to cross the Mongolian Altai on fully loaded bikes. They carry them over a pass the locals call the pass of death, sleep among wild horses, and are taken in by nomadic families along the way. A route only a handful of cyclists have ever ridden — through a land where people still live the way the world has forgotten how to.

He conquered it 25 years ago, but since then the climb has gotten harder and Sherman at 60 years old has gotten softer due to beerlust and his passion for bird photography.
