Two mountain bikers and a local guide set out to cross the Mongolian Altai on fully loaded bikes. They carry them over a pass the locals call the pass of death, sleep among wild horses, and are taken in by nomadic families along the way. A route only a handful of cyclists have ever ridden — through a land where people still live the way the world has forgotten how to.
