Teen Avalanche Safety (BEFSA Teen) is an initiative of the Bulgarian Extreeme and Freestyle Skiing Association (BEFSA), which provides free avalanche safety training to young people between the ages of 10 and 18. Their mission is to show that winter mountain adventures can be not only fun but also safe.

During the Bansko Film Fest, they have prepared interactive games and challenges through which participants will learn:Understanding how avalanches form and how to interpret the terrain, identifying the equipment that enhances safety, and knowing how to respond if someone is caught in an avalanche.

The training is led by instructors – mountain guides, ski and snowboard teachers, as well as people who work with children on a daily basis, both in the city and in nature. They invite children aged 10 to 18 to take part in the activities during the festival, which will take place at Tarzhestvena Hall, Nikola Vaptsarov community Center from 11:00 to 12:15 on 21 November 2025.
