Krzysztof Kaczmarek (Poland) – adventurer, highliner and slackliner – Presentation “Bulgaria from another perspective” – Presentation 26th of September 13:30h, Big Hall, Culture Center “Nikola Vapcarov”
Slacklining is the action of walking on a narrow elastic webbing (slackline), hanging between two points. Highlining is basically the same, but at height, between two rocks or trees, most often in the mountains. In the search of suitable spots for practicing highlining, Krzysztof Kaczmarek from Poland travels across his beloved country Bulgaria. Up to now, Krzysztof has sent over a hundred highlines (the highest one was placed at a height of 120 m) – they were set over mountain gulfs, waterfalls, ancient Thracian ruins and even in a cave. He makes his projects reality together with his daughter Pamela, who not only helps him with the rigging process of the highlines, but explores the forgotten stories and legends of the mountain villages and educates herself about the local traditions.
