The New Speed Record on Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau
This documentary follows Swiss climber Nicolas Hojac and Austrian Philipp Brugger as they attempt to set a new speed record for ascending the north faces of Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau in one day.
The story begins with background information on both alpinists and their preparation for this challenge. Archive footage and interviews shed light on the history of these famous north faces and the previous record set by Ueli Steck and Stephan Siegrist in 2004.
The main part of the film documents the spectacular ascent on April 5, 2025. Dramatic footage shows the athletes climbing in darkness, mastering difficult passages, and racing against time. Interviews with both athletes along the route provide additional insights.
The emotional climax is reaching the summit of Jungfrau after only 15 hours and 30 minutes - almost 10 hours faster than the old record.
