Presentation: “The Giant Caves of Laos”
Home, shelter, sanctuary, natural heritage, climate archive – these are the caves of Laos. Vast, spectacular and largely unknown to the wider public, they attract, intrigue and draw visitors into an extraordinary underground world.
The photography exhibition, created during the 3rd Bulgarian Caving Expedition to Indochina/Laos (2026), offers a glimpse into this little-known subterranean world and aims to inspire cavers, travellers, enthusiasts and dreamers alike to put Laos on their list of future destinations.
Dr Kremena Georgieva is a communications professional and researcher with a particular interest in bringing lesser-known and less accessible areas of science to a wider audience. As Manager of Communications and Social Responsibility at Kaufland Bulgaria, she believes strongly in the vital role of business as a partner to science, education and culture in the modern world.
Dr Eng. Tsvetan Parov is a physicist and speleologist who has devoted 30 years to cave exploration and research in Bulgaria, France, Greece, Iran, China, Laos and Ukraine.
