Kimshung - the mountain of destiny

For nearly ten years, François Cazzanelli has been returning to the same mountain:

Kimshung, a hidden peak in the Langtang Valley. It all began in 2015 when his friend

Giampaolo Corona invited him to Nepal; however, the expedition quickly turned into a

rescue mission following a devastating earthquake. Years later, on that same mountain,

François suffered a near-fatal accident. In 2022, after Corona was injured on Annapurna

and became unable to return to Kimshung, he effectively entrusted François with the task

of completing their project.

The film retraces this deep bond: expeditions, rescues, retreats just meters from the

summit, and long waits where wind, snow, and choices weigh as much as technical skill.

Alongside François are Bepi Vidoni and a group of friends—a community that shares risks

and responsibilities, often prioritizing people over the peak. Upon his return to Langtang,

Kimshung becomes his "mountain of destiny": a line to climb and a circle to close, in a

story of friendship, vulnerability, and the search for meaning.
