The 24th International Mountain & Adventure Film Festival is just around the corner!
From 19 to 23 November, the mountain town of Bansko becomes the gateway to an
unforgettable journey through the marvels of wild nature.
As Bulgaria’s largest festival dedicated to extreme sports, mountains, culture, and adventure,
Bansko Film Fest offers a distinctive experience across 10 venues, recreating a vibrant festival
atmosphere at the foot of the stunning Pirin Mountains in 5 days of cinematic immersion, 83
selected film premieres, 43 countries represented — including Kazakhstan, Iran, Bhutan, and
India, a competition program in 7 categories, 14 inspiring presentations by leading Bulgarian
and international climbers and explorers, Encounters with world-renowned directors, panel
discussions, and Q&A sessions, 9 exhibitions, Contests, climbing competitions, and caving
expeditions
Program Highlights: “Mysteries of Everest” – a gripping talk by Jochen Hemmleb (Germany),
the festival stars are great adventurers and climbers – Oswald Rodrigo Pereira (Poland),
Matteo della Bordella (Italy), Martin Ziberer (Austria), Stefano Ragazzo (Italy); Masterclass for
young Bulgarian filmmakers: "Camera in Extreme Conditions" with Greg Gransden (Canada)
Presentations by Nikola Kalistrin and scientist-speleologist Tsvetan Parov: "Antarctic Blue –
The Impact of Climate Change on Glaciers", Time2Dare – Bulgaria’s only all-female sailing crew
shares their journey. A children and youth program with interactive lessons, outdoor
activities, and workshops BanskofilmfestKIDS.
