BFF 2014: “Un Prince au Royaume de Lo”
“Un Prince au Royaume de Lo”, France, 2013, Fabien Brusson, 71’
“My name is Phu, Phu Georgie Lama Sherpa. I’m 30 years old and live in one of Kathmandu’s suburbs. To support my family I’m working as a english-speaking guide. I’m working with groups of trekkers, who reach the bases of the tall peaks. Today I’m headed towards the Annapurna Mandala Trail Ultramarathon in Mustang, the former Kingdom of Lo. I’ll go, I’ll win and come back to tell my wife and little daughter: “I saw Lo and that makes me proud as if I am one of the princes there.” That’s what says one of the main characters of the movie, which shows a bit of everything – effort, adrenaline, wonderful vistas and the exceptional nature and culture that thrive on the border between Tibet and Nepal.
