Angola remains largely unexplored in the world of climbing. In recent years, organizations such as Climb Angola and Climbing for a Reason have begun to promote the sport in the country, encouraging local interest, identifying potential climbing areas, and establishing the first routes. Several prominent figures in the climbing community have already visited its walls, and now it’s the turn of the Abriendo Camino team, joining this emerging exploration with the goal of opening new routes in the African nation. Led by Marina Fernández and Marta Pérez, the inclusive and multidisciplinary team will venture into the rock formations of Pedras Negras and Cumbira II, aiming to leave a lasting feminine mark on these yet-to-be-discovered vertical landscapes.
